Money is a subject we talk about in RL and SL. Often its about how to get hold of them. In SL its a bit special. Besides making business you can get a job. There is a real wide range of levels for a salary. The lowest salary is ridiculous low – its that low so the electricity you use is more than you earn. People just forget about that 
The highest salary you can get in SL is a figure I don’t know.
What I do know is that you should get a job for a RL company that are willing to pay you a RL salary for your RL time in SL. Then you have a chance to get a salary that is ok. I cant say that I know people that got rich from that but compared to what you usually get paid in SL a RL salary is a lot more.
I’m very sure that a lot more people will do their RL job in SL in the future – even a near future probably. For now it seems as RL companies haven’t found how they benefit of represent themselves in SL. Well some have but that mostly an internal benefit. They use SL for meetings and conferences. They make big savings by cutting down travel costs. And surely we all benefit from less travel by keeping down pollution and CO2 in the air.
In RL we have different kinds of commission systems. Maybe that is something Linden Lab should look at. There is the system with referring friends. If you do that AND the friend gets an premium account you get some linden dollars. It wont make you rich but I’m sure its possible to make other commission systems too.
Personally Im gonna stick with being rich by having good and lots of friends. I love to help create awarness and use SL as a platform for that. There are so many great persons in SL that are doing a great job. Some of them Im working with and some are in SL and are being great friends – thats more than enough.

Richness is a state of mind. There are people who have massively more money than others but still hunger for more. They believe that if they have still more it will stop the hunger but can never have enough. Noone feels comfortable near them. They cant trust that their “friends” dont just want them for their money.
Others have “nothing” but are so rich inside from valuing the things beyond price – love, nature, the sunshine in their face, the bird song they hear, the good they can give – that it just shines out of their faces. They know that what “feeds” them is giving because it gives back so much. People want to be near them. For them the world in all its riches is “more than enough”.
I feel blessed that some of my good friends are like this. What riches I gain from that!
